1. Ernest Amos ‘Penn’ Chapel,¹ born 18 July 1913 in Montville, New London County, Connecticut, the son of Earl Booth and Rose Anna Garrett;¹ died 7 August 1995.¹ Penn married, 25 September 1954 in Montville Union Baptist Church, Montville, Connecticut, Dorothy Anita ‘Dottie’ Roselund^{3, 4} (born 27 March 1929, the daughter of James Inos Roselund and Anita Rose Dufour;² Dottie died 29 December 1996²). Their marriage ended in divorce in ca. 1965.^{5, 6} Penn and Dottie are buried in Comstock Cemetery, Montville, New London County, Connecticut.²^,⁵

Ernest was a WWII Army veteran. He worked at Shelton Weaving Company, Federal Paper Board, both in Montville, Connecticut, and later at Electric Boat in Groton, Connecticut, as a painter, and lastly for the City of New London.¹

Ernest was known as Penn from his employment with the Pennsylvania Railroad. He was cremated and his ashes were sprinkled over his parents’ graves.⁵

Dottie worked as a nurse’s aid at Norwich Hospital for many years, and also at Monsanto at Essex. She established and ran Dots and Daughters, a gift shop, on Route 32 in Montville, Connecticut.²
