First Generation
1. Ernest Amos ‘Penn’ Chapel,1 born 18 July 1913 in Montville, New London County, Connecticut, the son of Earl Booth and Rose Anna Garrett;1 died 7 August 1995.1 Penn married, 25 September 1954 in Montville Union Baptist Church, Montville, Connecticut, Dorothy Anita ‘Dottie’ Roselund3, 4 (born 27 March 1929, the daughter of James Inos Roselund and Anita Rose Dufour;2 Dottie died 29 December 19962). Their marriage ended in divorce in ca. 1965.5, 6 Penn and Dottie are buried in Comstock Cemetery, Montville, New London County, Connecticut.2, 5

Ernest was a WWII Army veteran. He worked at Shelton Weaving Company, Federal Paper Board, both in Montville, Connecticut, and later at Electric Boat in Groton, Connecticut, as a painter, and lastly for the City of New London.1

Ernest was known as Penn from his employment with the Pennsylvania Railroad. He was cremated and his ashes were sprinkled over his parents’ graves.5

Dottie worked as a nurse’s aid at Norwich Hospital for many years, and also at Monsanto at Essex. She established and ran Dots and Daughters, a gift shop, on Route 32 in Montville, Connecticut.2

Their marriage ended in divorce on 12 September 1996.2 Sandra partnered with, second, J. Kevin McCoy2 (born 21 September 1957, the son of John McCoy and Florence _____2).
