First Generation
1. Anna G. Pearson,1 born ca. 1859 in Indiana (parents not determined).1 Anna married, 24 November 1928 in Grand Junction, Mesa County, Colorado, George Harry Ryan12 (born 31 July 1848 in New York, the son of Henry Rogers Ryan and Abigail ‘Abbey’ Gazlay;1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 George died 23 November 1934 in Grand Junction, Mesa County, Colorado2, 11). George is buried in Woodlawn Abbey, Sumner, Pierce County, Washington.2

George was one of the early residents of Sumner, Washington. He established several businesses, and he was responsible for several firsts in Sunmer, including being elected the first mayor in 1891. His home, called Ryan House, became the first library of Sumner, and eventually its first and only museum.13

Several family trees at Ancestry (website), including the Kathleen Mary Ryan family tree and the CWRyan family tree, provide the full names, birth dates and places, and death dates and places for George Harry Ryan and his wife Lucy Viola Wood. Although none of the trees indicate the sources of these details, they are mostly consistent with the partial dates and places found in census records, marriage and death indexes, and are therefore considered correct, with few exceptions.
