1. _____ Tilton,1 born ____ (parents not determined). Mr. Tilton married Helen E. Fox5 (born 1841 in Cooperstown, Otsego County, New York, the daughter of James Lloyd Fox and Caroline Hubby;1, 2, 3, 4 Helen died 5 February 1917 in New Berlin, Chenango County, New York4). Helen is buried in Columbus Corners Cemetery, Columbus, Chenango County, New York.6

Helen lived in New Berlin, New York, for many years, and after the death of her husband, Dr. Erasmus D. Hayward, she moved to Utica, New York. Harriet founded the Col. Israel Angel Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.) in New Berlin, and she was its first regent. She was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in New Berlin, and later she attended the Trinity and Calvary churches in Utica.4
