Dr. Fred Jerome Dutton,1 born 22 January 1923 in West Winfield, Herkimer County, New York (parents not determined);1, 2, 3 died 19 August 2008 in The Woodlands, Texas.1, 2 Fred married, 31 August 1946, Alice Jean Tuttle2, 7 (born 12 July 1923 in Frankfort, Herkimer County, New York, the daughter of Lynn Royal Tuttle and Ruth Irene Gazlay;3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Alice died 7 October 2008 in The Woodlands, Texas4, 6). Fred and Alice are buried in Gazlay Cemetery, South Edmeston, Otsego County, New York.8

Dr. Dutton grew up in West Winfield, New York. In 1949, he received a Bachelor of Science degree from Canisius College, Buffalo, New York, and in 1952 he received a degree in dentistry from the University of Buffalo. Dr. Dutton served in the Marine Corps during World War II. After his marriage to Jean Tuttle in 1946, Dr. Dutton operated a dental practice in Mohawk, New York. He was a member of many organizations. He enjoyed playing golf and was an accomplished cabinet maker.2

Jean grew up in Frankfort, New York. In 1944 she received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Buffalo State Teachers College. She was an art teacher at several high schools, in West Winfield and Aurora, New York. Jean was an accomplished artist and a member of several art associations in New York and later North Carolina.6
