Second Generation

Alice Brown Sparks2 (Martha1), born 6 September 1874 in Camden, Camden County, New Jersey;1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 died 3 June 1951 in Butte County, California.3 Alice married, first, 24 November 1913 in Washington, D.C., Charles W. Schaffer8 (born ____, parents not determined). Alice married, second, 12 May 1917 in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan, Charles Clifford Gazley2, 6 (born 6 May 1872 in Texas, the son of Dr. Edwin Theodore Gazley and Anna Cecilia Hadsell;6, 9, 10, 11, 12 Charles died 16 September 1961 in Los Angeles County, California9).

Charles was born in Texas and lived there at least until 1896, when he was the vice president of the Austin Pharmaceutical Association.13

By at least 1910 he was living in California, selling wireless stock there. He lived most of the rest of his life in California, although he was living in Michigan at the time of his third marriage.14

His age is apparently low here by several years compared to other records.
