First Generation
1. John Harley Gazlay,1 born 4 February 1804 in New York, the son of Aaron Gazlay and Abigail Sutton;1, 2, 3 died 19 October 1869.1 John is buried in Gazlay Cemetery, South Edmeston, Otsego County, New York.1

John was deaf and dumb. He was a pupil at the New York Institution, and later served as a deaf and dumb assistant to the teachers at the school.4
