Edward worked in several jobs before serving for six months in the US Army during WWI. Afterward, he worked and lived in various states until he settled in New Jersey, finding employment as a state corrections officer, retiring in 1961. He was a Mason and a member of various organizations. He compiled two editions of The Honour Family History in 1970 and 1980.2
