Stephen was a graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School. He served an apprenticeship for one year at Landis Tool Co., Waynesboro, where he was a molder for more than 36 years. He also worked in maintenance and patient care at Abraxas in South Mountain. Stephen enjoyed all types of sports, especially archery, earning second place in a state competition, golfing, woodworking and camping. He was a member of various community organizations.2
