Wood and E. Haight5). Their marriage ended in divorce.6 Richard married, second, 12 December 1947 in New Rochelle, Westchester County, New York, Rosemary Sturgeon11 (born 15 April 1925 in Montana, the daughter of Hershel Beverly Sturgeon and Lola E. Thurman;7, 8, 9, 10 Rosemary died 15 August 1997 in Contra Costa County, California7, 8). Their marriage ended in divorce in May 1956 in Volusia County, Florida.12 Richard married, third, 16 March 1962 in New York, New York, Susan Cochrane (née Estey) 6 (born 21 November 1925 in Brattleboro, Windham County, Vermont, the daughter of Jacob Poor Estey and Edith Martha Tyler;13, 14 Susan died 20 December 2008 in Vero Beach, Indian River County, Florida15). Rosemary is buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia.7

Rosemary was apparently adopted by her mother’s second husband, Hobart Swanson, since Rosemary is found in several records as Rosemary Swanson.
