1. Harry William Carden,1 born 11 December 1865 (parents not determined);1 died 10 April 1922.1 Harry married, 1889, Maude Lillian Briggs1 (born 9 April 1865, parents not determined;1 Maude died 28 December 19331).

Second and Third Generations
2. Raymond Wright Carden2 (Harry1), born 3 March 1905;1, 2 died December 1968.1 Raymond married, 1 July 1939, Mary Elizabeth Gazlay4 (born 24 December 1915 in Hamilton, Madison County, New York, the daughter of Arthur Jay Gazlay and Inez E. Lincoln;2, 3, 4 Mary died July 19783).

Mary E. was born Dec. 24, 1915, at the Payne Street home. She was named Mary for Grandma Lincoln, and Elizabeth for Grandma Gazlay. She has blue eyes and curly hair. She resembles her father in looks and ways, but has the dimple in her chin, like her mother. She graduated from State Teachers College, Buffalo, N. Y. July 1st, 1939, she married Raymond Garden, a graduate of Colgate University. They have two children. Mary and Ray are both teaching on Long Island. They reside at Northport.4

Several differences in dates have been found between this document and others, especially A Genealogy of the Leavenworth Family; the latter is considered the more accurate source.
