Thirty-five pages of the application for pension by his wife, Catherine Burger (also named as Catherine Quick), living in Kerhonkson, New York. Various documents and affidavits provide vital details, including his death, and marriage dates and places, and names and birth dates for five of his children, minors at the time of the application. Several documents address the birth year for the youngest child, Pernoley, originally stated as 1859, but asserted as 1860 by the physician who delivered her. However, she is clearly shown in the 1860 census as age 8/12 [months], so she must have actually been born in 1859.
