Biography

Sir Clifford Sifton served as Attorney General and Provincial Lands Commissioner, Canada, from 1891-1896. He was elected a Member of Parliament in 1896 and served as Minister of the Interior. As Minister, he presided over the creation of the Canadian provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan in 1905. Honored for his service to the Commonwealth, Sir Clifford was appointed Knight Commander, Order of Saint Michael and Saint George (K.C.M.G.) on 1 January 1915.3, 4
