Alexander and Mary are buried in St. Patrick Cemetery, Montville, New London County, Connecticut.

Alexander emigrated 22 July 1912 from Poland.7


+2i. Mary Blanche Kropowski, born 4 November 1917 in New London, New London County, Connecticut; died 13 October 1986 in Groton, New London County, Connecticut. Married Lawrence Curtis Willard.

Walter Krupowski, born 25 April 1919 in Montville, New London County, Connecticut;8 died 14 July 1934 in Montville, New London County, Connecticut.8 Walter was a student at the time of his death. His death certificate indicates he died of acute dilation of the heart and sepsis, contributed from infection from tonsils.8 Walter is buried in St. Patrick Cemetery, Montville, New London County, Connecticut.

  8. Death Certificate, Connecticut, Montville, Certificate No. 141 (1934), Walter Krupowski. The certificate incorrectly shows his year of birth as 1918, but combining his known date of death (14 July 1934) and his exact age at death (15 years, 2 months, 19 days), both shown on the death certificate, demonstrate that his actual birth year was 1919. His brother Alex and sister Helen also know his birth year to be 1919, which also agrees with his gravestone.
Second Generation

Mary married, 21 October 1939 in Uncasville, New London County, Connecticut, Lawrence Curtis Willard (born 11 August 1917 in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio, the son of Richard D. Willard and Alice B. Waitz;1, 2 Lawrence died 18 July 1974 in Groton, New London County, Connecticut).

Helen Teresa Krupowski2 (Alexander1), born 14 July 1920 in Montville, New London County, Connecticut;3 died 26 May 2010 in New London, New London County, Connecticut.4 Helen married, 14 September 1940 in Uncasville, New London County, Connecticut, Robert Elwood Chapel6 (born 13 April 1917 in Montville, New London County, Connecticut, the son of Robert William Chapel and Rose Anna Garrett;5 Robert died 25 May 1980 in New London, New London County, Connecticut5). Helen and Robert are buried in Comstock Cemetery, Montville, New London County, Connecticut.7

Robert is a WWII Army veteran serving at the Battle of the Bulge and spending time wounded in Stalag 4B POW camp in Muhlberg, Germany. Prior to the war he worked at Robert Gair Mill and afterward he worked for 30 years at Robertson Paper Box in Montville where he was a box machine operator.8

Christopher Matthew Willard, born 26 June 1975 in New London, New London County, Connecticut;1 died 15 March 2001 in Fort Worth, Texas.2 Christopher graduated from Fitch Senior High School in 1993. He attended the University of Connecticut at Avery Point as well as a Texas junior college. He moved to Fort Worth in January 1995. Christopher was licensed as a certified pharmacy technician. He died as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Robert Elwood ‘Red’ Chapel, Jr.3 (Helen,2 Alexander1), born 1 December 1942 in New London, New London County, Connecticut;3 died 2 December 2010 in Quaker Hill, Connecticut.4 Red married, 9 June 1962 in Waterford, New London County, Connecticut, Dale Mae Strickland6 (born 12 November 1942 in New London, New London County, Connecticut, the daughter of Tryon Strickland and Ethel Hubert5). Red is buried in Union Cemetery, Waterford, New London County, Connecticut.4

Red graduated in 1960 from Norwich Technical School. He was a member of the Quaker Hill Fire House. Red owned Chapel Painting Co., which he operated along with his son Kenneth. He also owned and operated Bob’s Rod and Tackle shop in Quaker Hill after he retired from his painting business.4

Waite9). Their marriage ended in divorce December 1991.7

Raymond worked for Pfizer in Groton, Connecticut for about 20 years. He later worked for Rand Whitney in Montville, Connecticut.7
