Salvatore Samuel Palmisano,1 born 15 February 1922 in Stonington, New London County, Connecticut, the son of Pietro ‘Peter’ Palmisano and Antonina Lazzara;1, 2 died 3 February 2011 in West Haven, Connecticut.2 Salvatore married, 19 June 1948 in Montville, New London County, Connecticut, Jessie Myrtle Sisson2, 8 (born 11 March 1925 in Connecticut, the daughter of Henry Everett Sisson and Nellie Dora Burdick;3, 4, 5 Jessie died 17 February 2001 in New London, New London County, Connecticut6, 7). Salvatore and Jessie are buried in St. Mary Cemetery, New London, New London County, Connecticut.2

Sam, as he was known, was a graduate of Chapman Technical School. He served in Guadalcanal during World War II. Sam worked at Electric Boat in Groton, Connecticut, for over 40 years. He was a pipefitter and worked in the nuclear pipe inspection department. He worked on the first nuclear submarine, the Nautilus.2
