Tefft and Ellen O. Boyens;2, 5, 6, 7 Elmer died 27 April 1935 in Montville, New London County, Connecticut7, 8). Elmer is buried in Carey Cemetery, Canterbury, Windham County, Connecticut.7

Elmer served as selectman of Montville for four years. He was a charter member and past grand of Thames lodge, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and a member of the Montville Center, Congregational Church. In politics his preference was the Republican party. Elmer possessed a quiet disposition, was a pleasing conversationalist, and was well liked and respected by all with whom he came in contact.7

LUTHER CLINTON TEFFT - The first position Luther C. Tefft ever held in a mill was with the Palmer Brothers Quilt Mills, and since that time he has filled many positions, now being assistant superintendent of the Bank Paper Mills in Montville, Connecticut. He is a son of Elmer Tefft, a farmer of the town of Griswold, New London county, Connecticut, but later moved to a farm in Oakdale, Connecticut, where he is now living, aged fifty-four years. He married Jessie McClure, born in Griswold, Connecticut.

Luther Clinton Tefft was born at the home farm in the town of Griswold, Connecticut, August 28, 1891. He attended public schools until fifteen years of age, then secured employment with the Palmer Brothers Quilt Mills in Montville, his parents having previously moved there. He remained three years with Palmer Brothers, going thence to what is now the Keyes Products Company Mill, where he remained until 1915. In that year he came to his present position, assistant superintendent of the Bank Paper Mills in Montville. Mr. Tefft is a member of Oxoboxo Blue Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons, in Montville, Connecticut, and in politics is extremely independent.

Mr. Tefft married Mabel La Flame, born in Yantic, Connecticut, February 11, 1892, daughter of James and Grace (Windsor) La Flame. Mr. and Mrs. Tefft are the parents of four children: Dorothy T., born February 7, 1912; Ruth, born January 26, 1914; Elsie, born February 16, 1917; Luther, born May 5, 1920. Mr. and Mrs. Tefft are members of the Episcopal church of Norwich, Connecticut.

From his obituary: Luther was a farmer all his life, operating a farm in Oakdale after having moved there from East Hartford around 1939. He was a member of the Montville Center Congregational Church. Luther died from accidental drowning while swimming at the Oxoboxo Lake Dam in Montville.14

Firth20, 23, 24, 25 (born 25 February 1901 in New Bedford, Massachusetts, the daughter of Fremont Firth and Edith Crumbie;21, 22, 23 Ethel died 22 October 1978 in Norwich, New London County, Connecticut21, 23). Robert and Ethel are buried in Maplewood Cemetery, Norwich, New London County, Connecticut.20, 23

Robert served in the Merchant Marines in 1918, worked in Civil Service, ran a grocery store in New Hampshire, was a carpenter at Electric Boat for 15 years, and last worked for the city of Norwich Parks Department. He was a member of the General Assembly and former first selectman of Montville, where he was a resident for more than 50 years. He moved to Norwich in 1957. Robert was a member of the Oxoboxo Lodge of Masons for 44 years, and a member of Oweneco Chapter, Order of Eastern Star for 35 years. He was also a member of Lee Methodist Church in Norwich.20

Ethel was employed for many years at the former Baltic Mills. She was a member and past matron of the Oweneco Chapter, Order of Eastern Star in Montville, and a past matron of the New London County, Order of Eastern Star. She was a member of Bethany Shrine, White Shrine of Jerusalem of New London, Jessimine Court, Order of Amaranth, Lee Memorial Church and the Montville Center Social Center.23

Their marriage ended in divorce on 23 June 1971 in Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut.37 Santo is buried in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill, Hartford County, Connecticut.39

Santo was retired after working for the City of Hartford. He served in the U.S. Army 43rd Infantry Division during the Cuban situation, and he was retired from the U.S. Army Reserves 76th Training Division in West Hartford.39
